PARIS

Paris is a very unique place I thought. It has and elegance about it. People dress a bit more formally than we do in the US. The Language is also elegant and the culture is different. Everyone is like in slow pace compared to Americans. Its as if no one is in a hurry which takes a bit to get use to but is a welcome change.

We stayed in Paris which was what we were recommenced and I thought it was a good decision. There is a lot to see in Paris itself and if you have to travel back and forth from another location would be costly and annoying I think. My recommendation is to stay in Paris for at least a few days if not a week or more. You can always travel out once you feel you have seen enough of the area if that ever happens. Lol

Paris is famous for its cafe culture, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Moulin Rouge, pastries, and fashion. Paris is often seen as having beauty, elegance, and as being a boldly romantic city.

I think a Romantic City is and understatement. My husband and I went to Paris for our anniversary and it definitely did not disappoint. It is such a Romantic City!!! It is for sure for Special Occasions!! I can’t imagine anyone not loving it.

We did a bus tour the one with the open top one during the Day then we said hey lets do that at night with all the lights and the Eiffel Tower lite up. So we quickly before the bus was leaving went into a shop and bought a small bottle of red wine and the shop owner only had one plastic glass we brought on the bus with us. The area is relaxed on those things at least that what it felt like. That bus tour was the most romantic and stands out to me so Beautiful!! I still have that bottle. If you go to Paris do the Bus Tour at Night!!

The Eiffel Tower is amazing to see during the day and lite up at night especially. We did a walk up tour of the Eiffel Tower during the day and that is quite and education on how it was built and what it looks like close up.

The Louvre is a Hugh Museum with such Wonder!! It has many sections in the Museum. We did a lot of it but not all of it. It is So big. I remember seeing the Mona Lisa there and it is quite amazing you are only a few feet away from the painting and it is not covered or guarded by glass or anything. I was amazed. So much beautiful art work and exhibits. Definitely a must see.

Notre Dame was absolutely Stunning!! It was so unfortunate that it caught on fire. Luckily we were there before the fire. The Stain Glass is Spectacular. I believe a lot was salvaged. They are rebuilding. This is another High Point to see.

We did not go to Moulin Rouge when we were there and I now regret that but sometimes when time is short there is only so much you can go to and see. I also missed Claude Monet’s Museum there which I also regret. Many more thing to see but these are only a few, do your research and pick what you like.

The Cafe’s are fabulous!! The Coffee is Delicious!! I truly think so far the Coffee there was the best I have ever had. People are relaxed and sit in and especially outside the Cafe’s with there chairs looking out at the street as a lot of Europe is like. It is so much a culture of theirs. The Baguettes are Bread that is made fresh daily and you see people with their Baguettes leaving stores daily in Paris!! The Pastry is amazing and the French Restaurants are eloquent and the food delicious. I will say we always try to learn some of the language to be able to say some things when we are traveling but hard to carry on a conversation at length at least for us. If you begin with a waiter in french he will speak to you in french when you talk in English he also speaks English. I suggest trying to learn some words to get by with but you will be fine there if you don’t know French.

We did go on a Day trip to the Champagne Region. We got a small tour with only 6 people and the driver which picked us up very early and brought us back late. It was expensive but well worth it. We were able to get out of the City and see the country side and the amazing Champagne Region. Our driver educated us on the area as we drove stopping at a church where Dom Perignon is buried. He also explained that a bottle can not say Champagne unless the grapes are from that region. We proceeded to The Moët Chandon Champagne Vineyard for a tour and a tasting. The Cellars are amazingly old and the tour was fabulous. Then off to the Mum,s Vineyard with and equally great tour and tasting. Then we went to the small town of Reims where we had lunch and were able to walk around a bit and tour for a short time seeing a church there that was designed after Notre Dame with its rounded stain glass windows. Then back to Paris. On the way home he pointed out where the tragedy of Dianna’s death happened. Over all a Wonderful Day!! I would recommend going on a day trip to this area.

So much to see and experience Paris and the surrounding area’s are so worth it. I think a special Occasion is a perfect time to go!!
